Who is Francisca Rendic?

Francisca Rendic is a Sydney jewellery designer and maker. She trained and worked as an architect before completing a master's in jewellery design at the College of Fine Arts (UNSW), and her architectural background shows in the sculptural, structural forms of her work. She designs and makes each piece herself in her studio at 351 Bronte Road, Bronte, Sydney.

Is the jewellery handmade?

Yes. Every Francisca Rendic piece is designed and made by hand by Francisca in her Bronte studio, using sterling silver and gold, produced in Australia with Australian raw materials. Because each piece is handmade, small variations make every one unique. The Thamus Design men's range is a separate line.

What materials do you use?

Sterling silver, gold-plated sterling silver, and solid 9ct and 18ct gold. Selected pieces are set with diamonds and gemstones such as aquamarine, topaz, citrine, peridot and spinel.

How does fingerprint jewellery work?

When you order a fingerprint piece, Francisca posts you a kit with impression wax, instructions and a prepaid return envelope. You soften the wax in hot (not boiling) water, press the finger gently into it, and post it back. Francisca casts the print by hand in silver or gold. Allow 3 to 4 weeks from order to delivery. How long does an order take?

In-stock pieces are dispatched promptly after payment. Made-to-order pieces take 2 to 3 weeks to handcraft. Fingerprint pieces take 3 to 4 weeks from order to delivery, because the kit travels to you and back.

How much is shipping?

All orders ship with Australia Post, with tracking. Within Australia, standard shipping is free on orders over $150; below that, standard is $9.50 and express is $15. International shipping starts from AUD $25. See the shipping policy.

Is gift wrapping included?

Yes. Every order is gift wrapped as standard and arrives beautifully boxed, ready to give. See gift wrapping.

Can I return or exchange a piece?

Unused pieces in their original condition and packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Pierced earrings cannot be returned for hygiene reasons. Faulty or damaged items are replaced. See the full returns and refunds policy.

How do I find my ring size?

Do you make custom engagement rings and wedding bands?

Yes. Francisca designs and makes bespoke engagement rings and wedding bands in 9ct and 18ct gold with diamonds and gemstones, as well as custom pieces and redesigns of inherited jewellery. Get in touch to start, and see bespoke rings and wedding bands.

Do you offer jewellery-making workshops in Sydney?

Yes. In the Wax Ring Atelier workshop in the Bronte studio, you carve your own ring in wax and Francisca casts it in sterling silver for you. No experience is needed and groups are small (6 places). See the jewellery workshop page for dates and booking.

Can I visit the studio or buy in person?

Yes. The Bronte studio at 351 Bronte Road, Bronte, Sydney, is open by appointment, and Francisca's jewellery is also sold through stockists. See where to find us.

How do I care for my jewellery?

Store pieces in a cool, dry place, keep them away from perfume, hairspray, chlorine and saltwater, and buff sterling silver with a polishing cloth. Wipe gold-plated pieces with a soft, dry cloth. See the jewellery care guide.

Do you offer repairs, cleaning or resizing?

Yes. After-sales services include cleaning and polishing, re-oxidising, removing scratches and ring resizing (depending on the design), at a cost. Contact Francisca to arrange.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes. A gift card lets someone choose their own piece.

Do you make men's jewellery?
